DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT
My films focus on human relationships and capture processes of change. By giving a voice to the difficult emotions and complex decisions that accompany these processes, I hope to bring people closer, creating understanding and a sense of kindness: toward others, even when we don’t agree with their choices, and kindness toward ourselves.
I am particularly moved by how people find faith after experiencing profound doubt. In this way, my films are almost always about hope or the search for it. Beneath these personal and moslty character-driven stories, my documentaries have a strong social character, questioning how our society functions and how we define value.
As a filmmaker I do not believe in a fixed reality. For me, the creative process is a constant interaction. New realities arise in the contact between me, the creative choices that I make and the characters.
